Evolutions Yoga is the studio where I choose to practice on a regular basis because I know from experience that their teaching instruction is superior to anything else in the metro- Indianapolis area, and for that matter, just about anywhere else in the nation that I have practiced in the last 15 years. When I saw that Jenni and Ross were offering an Immersion plus E200 teacher program, my mind was made up. I came to the realization that not only had I chosen Evolutions for teacher training, but it felt like they had chosen me too. I was so excited! Funny how things work out at the right time in our lives.
Our class schedule was set up for householders – people who work during the day or have other obligations (life)! We all met for the next five months- every Tuesday evening for about four hours plus one weekend a month. Our class group was great and I loved our discussions and camaraderie. No questions were off limits for our teachers. We studied the ancient history and philosophy of yoga including some of the great texts of yogis of the past as well as modern translations, and how that wisdom can apply to the present day. We were taught human anatomy, bio-mechanics, and asanas. We were instructed how to practice pranayama, meditation, also discovered the powers of mudra and mantra. Creative drawings were utilized to gain the understanding of chakras and we even learned some Sanskrit. For the students that were on the teaching path, we observed eight public classes, had twelve hands-on (with students’ permission) practices to make safe adjustments for proper body alignment, and were instructed on techniques for sequencing and pacing a class. Ethics and the business of yoga were covered as well.
I am honored and proud to have completed Immersion plus E200 at Evolutions Yoga under the compassionate and knowledgeable expertise of Jenni and Ross. It was truly a life enriching experience and I’m sure I can speak for all of us in that we deeply appreciate that you put together this balanced program. Our yoga community is growing and I’m so joyful to be a part of it.
Peace and love,
